The afternoon game drive on the 18th of December proved to be a highlight. I found the York pride close to Ngala dam and we followed them to the water and watched them drink in near perfect light. They then spotted a group of wildebeest and impala close by and started stalking. They made a classic ambush and managed to chase the wildebeest straight into the waiting arms of Kokwana, the oldest lioness. The wildebeest ran straight towards Shaun’s car and the kill was made only 20 meters from his vehicle. We then sat in stunned silence as 17 lions fought, growled and devoured the wildebeest right next to our vehicles. Being Christmas I am slightly pressed for time, but I will put the photos on the blog as soon as possible.
