August is known as the windy month in South Africa. True to form we had quite a strong wind during the night. Predators often make use of opportunities like this to hunt as the noise of the wind would mask their approach and aid them while stalking the unsuspecting prey. Lions got the biggest prize of all last night when they caught an adult giraffe. Our guides arrived at the kill early morning while this big male called Kudyela was still feeding. He is part of a pride of ten and we are looking forward to some great photos and excellent sightings around the carcass for the next couple of days.
