People are often under the impression that lions cannot climb into trees. I often hear guests talking about a tree being the safest place to spend the night when lost in the bush as lions will not be able to get to them. Well I have got bad news for them. Lions can not only climb trees, but can do so better than any human can. They might look clumsy but are looks are deceiving. Rul, one of our guides, took this video on the 11th of July 2015 as a lioness was feeding on an impala carcass stashed in a tree by a leopard. Their sense of smell are really amazing as they walked straight towards the tree from more than 500 meters away.
