In the rush to find the Big 5 and other larger animals the smaller animals are often ignored by guests. This is where guides can distinguish themselves from the crowd by taking time to focus on the smaller less flashy creatures that are so often much more interesting than their more sought after neighbors. Knowing the habits of birds can also be most rewarding. When taking this photos we stopped close to a little bee-eater sitting on a perch. It flew away but knowing that they often return to the same perch we waited while I focussed in advance on the branch where it was sitting before, just in case it decided to return.
