Hi Lize, Robbie, Chantelle, Ryno & Eryk,

We have arrived home in Canberra, Australia, and are currently going through all the photos and movies we took during our stay.

Pondoro Lodge was absolutely amazing and definitely deserves the awards it has won. The Buffalo room was stunning, I couldn’t get over it! Unfortunately, as I said to Lize as we were leaving, we never really got the chance to enjoy it because we were so exhausted after all our game drives and walks! And we certainly got our money’s worth with all the animals we encountered – we got the big five plus many, many extras!

The food at Pondoro was spectacular: and we got to taste ostrich fillet, impala and kudu – all delicious and beautifully presented And your desserts, Lize, were deliciously decadent. I’m afraid I’ve put on several kilos, though!! Service was excellent too, in all areas.

We had so much fun going on the game drives, firstly with Robbie then with Ryno – and can you tell Ryno that Trevor finally got his male Kudu – seriously! As we were leaving for the airport with Gavin we spotted one just on the side of the road.

We were thrilled with our animal encounters, particularly with the lone bull elephant, the leopard and two meetings with the pride of lions – one when they were sleeping, and another when they were on the move.

Thank you to all of the staff for a wonderful, memorable stay.
