Dear Annchen,

It was such a pleasure to finally meet you in Durban. And once again thank you for a lovely lunch.

I should have written to you before but there has been so much to do since I came back to Sweden and time passes so quickly nowadays. Our Africa tour also seemed so far away when we returned to the cold and dark winter in Sweden.

The week at Pondoro was as wonderful as always and thank you so much for upgrading us to the new Buffalo chalet. I didn’t know that you and Lisbet had been communicating about my birthday so coming back from the morning drive I was totally taken by surprise by the celebration. I can’t tell you how much I appreciated it all. Lize thought that I should come back and celebrate my 80th birthday too (and some in between)! I’ll think about it.

All the animals showed themselves from their best sides. One day we followed a leopard and could enjoy the sight of it when it lay down quite close to our vehicle. It was an amazing experience. Well, I never get tired of those drives in the bush.

I certainly hope to be able to visit Pondoro again some time.

Please, give my very best regards to Robbie and Lize and a late congratulation to Robbie on his birthday last week. I was away and totally forgot it.

Kind regards,

Mona

The Pondoro Game Lodge was fantastic – the rooms, the food, the game drives, the managers and staff were all wonderful.  Lize’s food was a amazing – we certainly ate well! Robbie and Andries were very knowledgeable on our game drives, and we managed to see so many animals – except the elusive leopard!  Although I am using that as a good excuse to come back!!  I think 2 nights was a little short to stay there given time we had to leave in the morning and the distance to travel to the airport to make our flight to Mozambique (however I do acknowledge our time constraints).  I would have loved to have stayed one more night at the lodge – for a little more relaxation time and another game drive or two.  Would certainly recommend Pondoro to anyone.

Thanks,
Louisa
