A video of a tiny elephant calf taken on the 1st of October 2014. Elephant are very protective of their young, and calves seldom move further than a few meters from their mothers during the 1st year. Elephants are one of my favorite animals as they are always on the move making them excellent photographic subjects. Where lions can sleep for hours on end, elephants are active for much of the day and I have spent many hours photographing every detail and part of their anatomy, from their gentle amber colored eyes to the very maneuverable and fascinating trunk.
