A video taken by ranger Sam of a leopardess trying to catch a rock monitor lizard on the 13th of February 2016. She was obviously fascinated by the lizard and I am not sure why she did not push through and killed it. She did not appear too hungry and its defense of lashing out with the tail certainly helped in saving its life. The monitor lizard climbed into the safety of a tree after the incident and I saw the leopard going back sniffing around and eventually even climbing the tree. Nothing further happened and she eventually moved off.
