A video taken last week by Ranger Rul of a leopardess hoisting a duiker kill into a tree. We are enjoying some amazing leopard sightings of late and the Van Wyk mafazi is proving to be a real star. This time she was seen for a few days in a row feeding on a duiker kill. Late every afternoon the kill would be hoisted into a tree to escape the unwanted attention of nocturnal scavengers like hyenas and it would be taken down again early the next morning and put in the shade of a tree or bush nearby to evade the prying eyes of hungry vultures. A never ending cycle as old as the hills or beautiful Drakensberg mountains nearly.
