  • Guests followed the young male leopard, Chavaluthu, while he was stalking impala and were lucky enough to saw him make a kill right in front of the vehicle

Monday – 4 June 2012

  • Male leopard, Chavaluthu, feeding on the impala kill close to East/west cutline
  • A herd of about 250 buffaloes slowly grazing in a southernly direction
  • 1 Female black rhino drinking water
  • 1 Male black rhino browsing

Tuesday – 5 June 2012

  • Chavaluthu, the young male leopard, still at the impala kill
  • 2 Female black rhinos browsing
  • Part of the Olifants west pride ( one male lion and 4 females ) following a herd of buffaloes at Steven’s road

Wednesday – 6 June 2012

  • No big 5 sightings

Thursday – 7 June 2012

  • Saw a young male leopard, Juma madoda, at Rul’s road scent marking
  • A male and female leopard were seen chased up a tree by a lioness at the junction of Monzo and Leoparden road ( leopards were mating )
  • Lioness at leoparden road then chased a warthog into its burrow

Friday – 8 June 2012

  • 5 Male elephants feeding at Olifants road/ Cambridge 7
  • A herd of about 200 buffaloes were seen drinking water at Kambaku dam

Saturday – 9 June 2012

  • 1 Young male leopard ( unknown ) relaxed at 1/2 cutline
  • 5 Elephant bulls close to Olifants road
  • 1 Female black rhino
