A video taken by Rul on the 19th of November 2015 showing a pensive Andries watching hyenas playing around their den site. It is a privilege to be allowed into their inner sanctuary and it took years of dedication by the guides and trackers of Pondoro and Mohlabetsi, as well as members of the Hearne family to win their trust. They would move the den site every week or two in order to avoid attracting the attention of unwanted predators and also to get some relief from the unavoidable increase in fleas, lice and other parasites. This made keeping track of their movements very difficult, but a good working relationship between our concession partners made this a lot easier and we are now reaping the benefits.
